Long Legs

The inspiration for this wall hanging was the bombardment by the media, magazines and newspapers of photographs of tall young women with long skinny legs wearing tiny skirts, shorts and high heeled shoes. It was probably the look that the fashion world was promoting, which is all around on the streets and in the shops, and generally taken up by young women.

As a result I wanted to interpret the imagery in textiles, which I did using drawing, printing, dyeing and stencils until I reached a conclusion.

The images that I have attached show the evolution of the work from the sketch to the finished piece.
