Starting Points exhibition

My desire to create an art work starts from a source of reference that is relevant, significant, personable and tangible. This provides me with the means to express myself visually through line, tone texture and composition, to realise a concept and communicate and idea.

In my current project, a gift of a piece of Victorian costume, a pack of playing cards that conjures up childhood memories, family history, my love of fabric and thread and the rich surface they create all play their part
