Artist's Statement

Betty Fraser Myerscough DA ( Post Dip). Born in Scotland and after studying at the Glasgow School of Art, worked in industry for 4 years at J P Coats, Glasgow. She left the industry to become a full time lecturer in charge of embroidery and weaving at Gray's School of Art, Aberdeen. As a result of marriage and moving to London she worked as a part-time lecturer at Canterbury College of Art and Chelsea School of Art and Design. Since graduation to date she has continuously worked as a freelance textile artist producing wall hangings and pictures for exhibitions, both solo and group.

She has worked commissions for public buildings and private collectors. Work has been sold to Education Authorities, Embroiders Guild, Glasgow Art Gallery and private collectors in the UK, Europe and USA. Currently exhibiting in 'Art of the Stitch' on tour in Europe.
