Frances CapleArtist's StatementI studied City and Guilds creative studies Embroidery, Patchwork and Quilting in the eighties and nineties when living in southern England. Since childhood I have always worked with fabric and love the tactile qualities of fabric and thread, colour and natural forms have influenced my work, sometimes in an abstract form. Living on an island means never being far from the sea, the islands and sea frequently occur in my work, I am researching periods of island history for a new series of work. |
