Lee FittonArtist's statementLee is a textile artist working in felt. As a raw material she uses locally sourced and recycled wool which she hand-dyes. A subtle use of texture and colour combined with the unique qualities of the felting process convey an impressionistic yet contemporary feel to the work. Her explorations with line and form have led to detailed studies with a strongly figurative emphasis. She is currently developing her portfolio of portraits and soft shapes inspired by the human form. |
